Cafe Extrablatt in Mainz

We've actually been there a lot, but don't go there anymore because we've been disappointed so often. Cocktails taste miserable and are made completely without love. The coffee is bad, which is no wonder with the machine. The shop is well frequented, maybe you will take some more money here. Cappuccino and latte have nothing to do with crema, only with foam. At breakfast the fruit was spoiled and also served here without love. Looked like canteen food and tasted like it. I got the feeling that the operators are resting on the location and I guess that's the only reason the shop keeps going. It's a shame we're going to the Wallenstein next door in the future.

We spontaneously went to the restaurant for an ice cream. After 10 minutes our order was taken. The drinks came pretty quickly. Unfortunately we had to wait a long time for the ice. After it started raining we had to move, which is why our ice cream order was lost. A second waitress then took the order again and after another half an hour the ice cream finally came. Unfortunately I had to find out that 2 of my 3 ice cream scoops were already half melted. It's a shame.

As always with system gastronomy, top price / performance! Great location at the cathedral, especially with the many tables outside. Waiters always attentive & friendly!

Very nice restaurant and cafe. When the weather is nice, it is advisable to secure a place outside. Directly on Schillerplatz with a view of one of Mainz's sights: the Carnival Fountain. Whether breakfast, lunch, dinner or just for fun - delicious dishes, fine cakes ... that's how fun it is! Absolute recommendation!

There is a working she is so bad behaving with the clients. The thing that shocked me, she asked me to wear a mask. I said sorry i don't have. And I'm just going to the toilet it's just near my table... The thing she said ( borrow a mask from the others!????) seriously Extra Platt!!! I'm publishing this in all Facebook pages and Instagram.

Very nice service, Akcana. She accidentally tipped a glass and was super nice. The music was a bit too loud on Saturday evening, but otherwise everything went great.

It seems to me that either the administration of this city has fallen on the head, or the people in the extra edition do not manage to read the regulation correctly: We, a group of 7 people sat down at a table outside when we were promptly asked to split us on two tables. The supposed reason: Due to Corona, you can only have 4 people at a table. So we had to sit apart. Everything is well and good and maybe understandable if the 7 of us hadn't been a family?!?! This rule either makes no sense, or it seems to me that you can't read the extra sheet properly. Best regards

The service was very nice and friendly. Have fulfilled our every wish. The food tasted delicious and seemed to have been prepared to the best of our knowledge and belief. It is also very clean, the tables are freshly disinfected and everyone takes the mask requirement seriously. Always my pleasure!

I am very often in the Café extrablatt on Schillerplatz, but for a few months you have noticed that something has changed, the service has improved a lot and you feel comfortable as a guest. You will be served quickly and in a friendly manner and even my extra requests will be catered for as far as possible. Especially now at Covid-19 times I have to say that I feel extremely safe because the rules are being implemented well. I can recommend everyone, especially the delicious ipanema!

Very nice terrace with delicious cocktails. The waitress was very attentive and quickly took our order, and the meal came to our table quickly. Large selection of food and drinks ??. Despite the current coronavirus situation, I felt very comfortable because, for example, our table was thoroughly disinfected, the waiters wore masks and attention was paid to the distances between those next to the tables. Since I belong to the risk group, I pay close attention to the implementation of the rules and therefore felt comfortable and safe. I'm looking forward to my next visit. Keep it up!

The special edition is always worth a visit. Have breakfast outside in summer and watch the hustle and bustle on the market square. Very nice and courteous service, plentiful and tasty portions.

The fries were ok, but nothing more. Didn't taste like a lot, weren't great. Unfortunately, the food took twice as long as I was told, but the waiter was very friendly, he had noticed it himself and since I still managed to get away on time, that doesn't reduce my rating at the moment. I sat outside but was inside briefly and I have to say that the ambience is really nice.

There were four of us today in the Café Extrablatt and we just wanted to have a drink. Service and coffee (different sorts) was very good. The service was very nice. Only the completely contaminated toilets and the corresponding accompanying scent were to be criticized. Service and quality: great - toilets: absolutus no go !!!

I've been to the Extrablatt Café in different cities several times. The food is always very tasty and the drinks taste great. The service is nice. I will definitely come back! We recommend!

The cocktails are always a disappointment. They have nothing to do with the original recipes. Even with a friendly note that the cocktail does not match what you ordered, the cocktail is only taken away and put back down 1 minute later without any change (with the waiter's thumb on the glass rim). I'd rather spend 5 € more in another restaurant!

I love this café but it's always crowded and loud in there.

Excellent coffee quality paired with polite staff makes this a great place for the morning or afternoon coffee.

First of all I would like to speak about the service. The girl who attended us was very kind but even being a group of 4 people we were seated at a table 1 meter in diameter when they actually had, free, a large table. Then I ordered a half-cooked hamburger. The girl told me that you can't. I imagine they eat, their burgers, precooked and heat them as they do in a very international chain of hamburgers called McDonalds. Very poor quality

Terrible service. The place was dead and we still had to ask to be served. We then had to wait ages to get my drink and even longer to get the food. Food is ok but the service makes me never want to come back

Service is rather slow. The food is okay, yet nothing special at all, rather unimaginative at times. And the fact they have about 6 different menus does not help with the quality of the food. Good thing is the location.

Love the breakfast buffet!!! And at ten euros on weekdays and and bit more on the weekends I find it reasonably priced. The staff is very nice and the toilets are clean.

Super Good Food And Drinks but...It took an insane amount of time to get drinks food or a bill. I recommend if you have all day and are not thirst, hungry or in a hurry. It could have also been because it was a Sunday and busy. Either way good stuff just not the best service if honest.

Great location with excellent outdoor seating right next to the Fassnachtsbrunnen. Afternoon Sun. Two stars off for the mediocre quality of the coffee, try something else when you go there.
